Terms of Service

1. Acceptable Use

PrintParams is a platform for creating and sharing parametric 3D designs. You may use it for any lawful purpose. The following content is prohibited:

• Designs for firearms, firearm components, weapons, or other items whose manufacture or possession is restricted by applicable law
• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights, including patented mechanisms, copyrighted models, or trademarked logos, unless you hold the rights or have permission from the rights holder
• Malicious code, exploits, or content intended to compromise the security of PrintParams or its users
• Content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, or promotes violence or discrimination

We may remove content that violates these rules and suspend or terminate accounts of repeat offenders without prior notice.

2. Your Content & Code Rights

You retain full ownership of the code and designs you create on PrintParams. By publishing a design (making it public) you grant PrintParams and other users the following rights:

• Platform license: a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license for PrintParams to host, display, cache, and distribute your public designs as part of normal operation (search results, embeds, thumbnails).
• Community license: unless you specify otherwise, public designs use the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license. Others may remix, adapt, and build on your work, including for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you. You may choose a different license for any design you publish.
• Private designs: designs marked as private are not shared with other users. Only the platform license above applies.

You may delete your designs at any time. We will remove them from public access on deletion, though our infrastructure may retain cached copies for a short period.

3. Intellectual Property Claims

If content on PrintParams infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at legal@printparams.com with a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, and proof of ownership. We will review and act on valid claims within five business days.

4. Privacy

We collect and process the following data:

• Account data: your email address, username, and hashed password. We hash passwords with bcrypt and never store them in plain text.
• Design data: the code and metadata of designs you create on the platform.
• Usage analytics: anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the service. We do not track individual browsing behavior across third-party sites.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with third-party services only when necessary for operating the platform (hosting, authentication, analytics). All 3D computation runs client-side in your browser. Your design code never reaches our servers.

To request a copy of your data or delete your account, contact us at privacy@printparams.com.

5. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. If we terminate your account for cause, we may retain your data as required by law.

6. Limitation of Liability

PrintParams is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for damages arising from 3D designs created on this platform, including physical injury, property damage, or intellectual property disputes. You are responsible for ensuring that your designs comply with applicable laws and safety standards before manufacturing.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
